Small Dishes or Cups
If you tend to wear the same jewelry every day, keeping a small dish on your dresser or bedside table is a simple way to designate a location for your jewelry, according to Nikki Bell, owner of Just Us Organizing. When deciding on what small dish to use, don’t overthink it. “For rings and tiny trinkets, unique catchalls are my go-to. Vintage teacups, decorative bowls, or even old ashtrays make fun and functional alternatives,” says Jennifer Parnell, co-founder of Humble Suds.
Muffin Tin Organizer
Many home and kitchen items can be repurposed for jewelry organizing. Bell uses muffin tins to separate rings, earrings, and bracelets. Store the muffin tin in a drawer if you have the space to keep it safe and out of reach when you’re not using it. It’s the perfect solution if you have a drawer full of jewelry that is tangled together.
Ice Cube Tray
Storing studded earrings and rings requires care due to their small size, as they can easily be misplaced. “Store stud earrings in an ice cube tray for an easy-to-see display,” says Bell.
Jewelry Gallery Wall
“My number one creative solution is creating a jewelry gallery wall for those larger pieces such as funky necklaces and dainty pieces to maximize space, displaying jewelry as art and making everything easily accessible,” says Malaika Lubega, founder and CEO of Huza Home Harmony. “I am all about highlighting pretty items, it is an ingenious solution for creating your own beautiful DIY jewelry gallery wall in your bedroom or closet.”
Cork Board
“Mount a corkboard or pegboard on the wall, then use pushpins and hooks to hang your jewelry, creating a simple, easy-to-access, and visually appealing organized jewelry station,” says Lubega. You can customize your board with paint or decorations to match your room’s aesthetic.
Stackable Pull-Out Drawers
“Stackable organizers are perfect for jewelry storage and maximizing space on a dresser or even on a shelf in the closet,” says Lubega. This organizing method makes it easy to see everything you have without the mess.
Over-the-Door Mirror Jewelry Organizer
“Another great space-saving option is an over-the-door mirror with built-in jewelry storage. I got one for my daughter for Christmas, and it’s been a game-changer,” says Jennifer. “It’s multifunctional, keeps everything tucked away, and offers ample storage for all types of jewelry.”
Necklace T-Bar
“For necklaces I wear regularly, I love using a simple T-bar stand near my sink. It keeps them untangled, organized, and within reach. The minimal design prevents visual clutter, and the smaller base is great for holding earrings, watches, or other small accessories,” says Parnell.
Pill Organizer
Traveling with jewelry can be tough—especially if you’re short on space. To make use of items you may already have, Bell suggests storing your small earrings, rings, or delicate chains in a pill organizer. The small slots and secure top ensure your jewelry is organized and safe while on the go. It can be stored in your purse or your suitcase while not taking up much space.
Business Card Earring Hack
When you purchase a new pair of earrings, they are often pinned through a thick piece of paper to keep the pair together and the backs intact. Bell’s travel jewelry organizing hack is quite similar. “Poke small holes in a business card to keep earrings in place. You can also wrap necklaces around them,” says Bell.
