Shakira kicks off Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour in dazzling clothing
Opening her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour in Rio de Janeiro at Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos on Tuesday, Shakira proved she is still the powerhouse she always was. The Colombian singer wore eleven outfits throughout the night, each complementing her presence.
To kick off the show, the 48-year-old singer chose a blush-pink custom Atelier Versace minidress. Inspired by the brand’s swimwear line, the dress hugged her curves, while its short length showcased her toned legs. Exuding sultry power, the dress featured intricate crystal embroidery and unique cutouts.
Moreover, its plunging neckline and asymmetrical hem combined with a bold thigh-high slit provided the global icon with a strikingly feminine backdrop. She paired the look with pink, glittery ankle boots—making it the perfect launch ensemble.
Additionally, the star wore custom outfits from Indian fashion designers Anamika Khanna and Gaurav Gupta. The former look made waves across various media outlets for its fiery and fearless vibe, while the latter showcased Shakira’s ethereal and poetic persona.
Anamika Khanna’s red two-piece set featured a sequined cropped top and an asymmetrical high-slit fringe skirt. Metallic embellishments adorned the skirt, creating a bold and captivating impression of the Hips Don’t Lie singer. Later, she changed into Gaurav Gupta’s icy-blue corset and a long pleated skirt, presenting an avant-garde vision.
The corset, featuring wolf motifs, exuded power, while the wave-like pleats of her skirt contrasted the intensity with ethereal softness. Through these dynamic ensembles, the singer played with juxtaposition, crafting a night of expressive fashion, passion, power, and grace.
After releasing an album in March after years of no music, Shakira prepared the world for her glorious comeback. Las Mujeres Ya No Lloram topped Billboard’s charts in the “Top Latin Albums” and “Latin Pop Albums” categories. Moreover, it revealed a nomination at the Latin Grammys and made Shakira the first female artist to secure a top spot on the charts in four eras and decades.
